First, I posted at the same time that you edited.

Second, 'them' does NOT work in that situation. 'These' would refer back to the run on sentences that you were talking about in the previous sentence. Hell if you'd prefer, you could use 'those'.

Example:

I hate them dogs.     - Gramatically incorrect
I hate these dogs.     - Gramatically correct     - Present tense
I hate those dogs.     - Gramatically correct     - Past tense

It does depend on whether or not you are in past tense or not.

Don't screw around with me when it comes to English.
