I would give it about a week or two to see the old world.  Land wipe would just be player houses? Or plot lands too?

The land wipe saves all PLOT land. It just wipes player and un-owned. I would then "Add Content" to fill-er-up.

the server files themselves are pretty crappy theres no point having another Xerxes world that nobody really enjoyed.

The only reason I can see to play that world is for nostalgia sake. You would be better off dumping w/e half decent quests it had and putting them in a v2 world. I looked at the first 4-5 quests and was pretty unimpressed to bother to play more. I'm assuming they pick up later on, but the world is going be land/player wiped and is up for short term it sounds like.

The image files also didn't really have anything I haven't seen before in them. Maze V2 is the only world to come up so far with stuff that looks half interesting in its image files.

Don't get my wrong i'm not trying to hate on the world, it was a good RPGWO server 10 yrs ago.

to some extent, yes he is wrong!

I get what you're saying, but for me:
something new/fresh might be better than something playable
but something playable is better than nothing at all!
(comparison:
living in a mansion is better than living in a trailer park
but living in a trailer park is better than being homeless!)

if the choice is nothing at all or an old V1, my choice is the old V1! 
-I think Mickey lost interest in making V2 servers(even though V2>V6), so I don't think he'll be making anything V2 anytime soon. 
-we were all waiting for Gary's server for months then poof. 
-the only other thing up right now is purgatory which if you've played I'm sure you'll understand why I said there is nothing at all besides the V1
-I like this game, and I'm happy there is an actual open server(even though it needs a wipe)

See this is why you shouldnt have an opinion, your thoughts on the game mean nothing. This Manson isnt playable because its OUT played 10 pluse years ago. People play games for different reasons but its the same thing that happend to every rpgwo server after a long period of time, people hit 90+ items and money become worthless and the game becomes no fun. Keeping this server up is like keeping up Hexed. Did you not notice the zero player base? If you are that hungry for a game to play please find something els. Because all you are doing with your wolf comments are hurting the little player base thats left. The 20 strong that are left in this game want a logical server, something playable that is perferably the latest version with the correct fixes or atleast fixed enough to play for a few months. You reasons are garbage, you play for 3 weeks for whatever reason  then quit

did you read or skim?  I'm going to guess you only skimmed from the reply you made...the V1 would be the trailer park not the mansion(or manson as you put it), and I already stated it needs a wipe.  no it isn't the newest version, but I'll say it again: V1 is still better than no server at all.

It should be wiped so we can play. The quests alone will keep players. Its what mmorpgs today call PVE.  even pvp based rpgs (which some people think this game is) dont thrive without strong pve content which Steeltide had the best of any server. Because it had a good world layout with a variety of quests it kept players occupied, very similar to runescape actually which it was compared to back then. These days you hardly get a chance to pk anyway with the amount of players now, so you tend to focus on just killing monsters and questing for the fun of it. Id have fun with steeltide if it was wiped, Id probably keep a character there permanently again like back then when it was considered the "questing" server.
