Concept art Style

I was thinking we could style the foreground images. By adding a white border then a white border you gain a more table top look. It will give a more board game piece feel to it. Which in the end it is a game.

The only con is it takes a little bit more room to make borders so you really have a max of 30x30. But, since this is alpha nad making changes you can always add more wiggle room.

Some ideas ^^^

I am not a master artist so don't blame me for sloppiness

TL;DR
Idea to change art style to borderline cartoony.

would it work with a different color?  I know in V1/V2 white is used for transparency...
why does Fox keep cancelling good shows?

I use .PNG file snow so Alpha is used for transparency not white. I have already made the first part of this change by outlining things in black. V1/V2 didn't have that or was limited.

I shouldn't be too hard to do. I could even write a program to do it but... it reduces the usable size. The client is coded dynamically to any size image but 32x32 is standard "human" size. Having a black outline already reduces that to 30x30. Adding another black and white line reduces it to 26x26. Of course the outline can go beyond the 32x32 but I see it getting messy and requiring post processing maybe.

Maybe we need to see a mockup of entire screen with the effects. I think you showed me one.
