Pretty sure the server is hosted on Tommy's personal computer, so the server goes down every few weeks it seems like until he realizes it's down and puts it back online. He's not really ever online anymore from what I understand unless someone directly contacts him.

This is what I love about the RPGWO community. You all complain that there is no good world to play, but when someone puts the time and effort into actually doing this, they get blasted with hate. It's quite sad actually, I'm still surprised people are even attempting this these days.

Roar = Hex
Tommy = Hexxed

Hexxed was based on Roar's files, but bad admins.

No one likes a basic empty v2 world, I think that's been proven many times now. In my personal opinion there's a gigantic setup time with creating a new a world. If some people would be kind enough to share some of the old worlds they have sitting around then the assets, quests, other fun content could all be combined into a single massive world in a relatively short time (depending on which base files you picked).

For example, Mickey probably has a ton of decent quests (especially from the dungeoneering world) you could pull from his files + hex stuff + future stuff + Eddie's world files (IK he has a lot of worlds) + hexed quests... the list goes on. With all of those you could easily open a world with nearly 100 quests.

Otherwise hope Balmung is working on his world still, it's the only promising thing i've seen pop up lately.

atleast I'm hoping that is what he means by basic, not completely empty...

*town doesn't have to be fancy. a lifestone, mule and trader vendor, a resourcer, and an npc that sells starter weapons/tools should be enough.

While i agree to a certain degree. a World cannot continue without a form of quest. no matter what your grind is whether its levels or the ability to make anything, to be the best trader... whatever.

Eventually the challenge is removed, and that is the point quests step in to create variation. Even if its just a few hours it breaks the norm which brings back life to the game for people.

Like me or not you'll notice that i fly through the early levels to become self efficient ASAP. I get to the point of having all the tradeskills i need to make my own potions, boost myself at max level, make the top jewels etc etc. but i still enjoyed Roar's quests that he added whenever he could, i know he also got enjoyment about watching me suffer inside of them sometimes.

Roar - What is it going to take to get your interest into making a server? What do you want/need?

Not that it changes anything, but I would play a server that has 100+ quests.

@Drav: I did say starter quests...I know with no quests at all the server will die fast, but even with just starter quests there would atleast be a server open.
