I can't get on :(

I created my character now I'm just getting a blank screen, restarting the client doesn't help

The server hung on the world thread. Restarted it and working now. Will look into it.

Also, the scorpions are back so tread carefully :(

Still can't seem to use the updater, keep getting the "The specified executable is not a valid application for this OS platform."

Mysti got it to work somehow. I think she un-installed then re-installed the game.

Yeah, tried that with no luck. Disabled AV in case that was causing it too.  :(  Not sure why it worked before and not now.

OK, I just made a small change and updated the rpgwo6setup.zip file. So uninstall, download new one and install it and try.

What I am doing is renaming rpgwo6client.exe to rpgwo6client.png and putting on the website so it gets transfered past .EXE scanners and gets downloaded OK. Then the updater pulls the .png and renames it to .exe. Some where in there something is changing it.

Try rpgwo.com/v6/rpgwo6client.exe and copy it over the one on your machine that the updater created and try to run the client, not the launcher, and see if that works. If it does then I may change it to just deal with .exe straight forward. Or maybe I need to do what V1/V2 does and compress/decompress the EXE to protect/hide it.

if anything, pulling a EXE-headered png is even worse detection-wise, as it's an extremely common malware technique

Looks like it would have worked fine but I didn't try it til today and now it's out of date.

Mongo, if possible would you be able to post a speccy txt file or snapshot of your system you are having problems with?

You can download speccy from here:

https://www.piriform.com/speccy/download/standard

Just open the program then click File in the top left of the window then click on Save as a Text File

Afterwards you can either copy and paste the contents of that text file or just post the .txt itself.

I will try to isolate the problem and try to see if I can figure out a fix for you.

@Mongo, ok I updated the .exe for you.

I still plan to recode the updater to compress and maybe xor it so it can get past virus checkers, similar to what V1/V2 been doing for years and years.
