where did this thread end? what was actually decided?
@Zach I went back and read the rest of your post, and I'm still stuck at the same point. now I have to ask, have you ever heard of the ancient astronaut theory? that theory implies that most beings worshipped by earthlings were actually from other planets with higher forms of technology that the people of the time just didn't understand. looking at it that way, who is to say if we(as humans) visit other planets in the future and interact with beings that aren't as advanced as us that we won't become their gods? if you look at it that way, why wouldn't gods have the same thoughts/actions as humans since they are?

Zeus = Kirk
Athena = Spock
Hermes = Ahora
Hestia = Bones
Hephaestus = Scotty
