I have nothing against 'turn based' games, but 1 day for a turn is too long...how about 4 turns per day?  with the queue it shouldn't be tough to manage turns every 6 hours.

It isn't turn based, it is still real time but a slow real time. Like typically, in a single player RTS, it takes 1 to 5 minutes to build something. For this game, it like 1 to 5 hours. So, like, 10 to 20 times longer.
Why? Because it is supposed to be drawn out. A normal RTS plays out in a few hours. This will be a few months.

ok was looking at the 1 day to chop and harvest a tree part and that seemed long, 1-5 hours would be better...and now the big question, what is the setting for this game?  darkages, fantasy, modern, futuristic, renaissance, medieval(I know I'm a bad speller so shut up)...I know you mentioned space before would be an interesting space style thing with each person having thier own planet, but I don't see trees being chopped as an option for a space game :D

I am still around.
Shut down Dune cuz I needed the laptop for something at work and decided to leave it down. No plans to start any new V2 worlds. I suppose I am open to running a V2 world from my home but someone else would need to run it, no server access or updating.

I have been working on a single player, simple space RTS using AGK from thegamecreators.com. Almost ready to release it for ppl to try. I'll post it soon.
Itching to get to work on an RPG, like RPGWO V4 or something. We'll see *shrugs*

maybe Change the graphics to something like this.

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRr9dlDw9yHjU5Lv9DnhV1rmBa72GqcE9QDzA-x9kYXwa-Xpu_h

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQYYyKoJ2vax9tJ_ywnjZxK5EYIbdghlV5qsVvfX5Bf2-MTtCLyng

That camra angle is ultimate 2d graphics. If you could make the game like this you could improve the crafting system and would give more flow to player and enviroment/crafting.

I agree with the first 2 no's, but I'd atleast want to know more about his plans for V4 before it gets a no...

for example if he were to add some cool new crap that can't be done in V2, but still leave it as a console app, I'd be ok with it.

and yes I have ideas but I'm staying quiet since I didn't get any feedback on any of my many other ideas :'(

ok V3 sucked ass, we'll all admit that.  what you're not thinking about is that before that crap V2 came and had some really nice additions, things like chat tabs, larger containers, extra mining levels, and junk piles(no clue what else to call stacks of random stuff on the ground).  most change is bad I agree with that, but sometimes we get something good...so I'd atleast like to hear his plans for V4 before it gets shot down.

also I sort of blame you for the failure of V3. after you posted about it, Mickey got hooked on HnH and wanted to try a mix of that for V3 and it didn't work :P

I just wanna play some RPGWO on a fresh server.
so a update would be to get a server up with some active admins to maintain it and try solve problems and maybe do a few events.

At some point, working on V3, I knew most veterans weren't going to like it and so I focused on the new FB crowd. But then I started to not like it myself and then technical issues popped up then I realized... FB is ghey. *shrugs*

Now, HTML5 will probably kill off Silverlight, even though Silverlight is better for games but HTML5 will eventually run on all systems/platforms/OSes so that is a big plus.

Kaios, so what do you want to see?

Um, what is HnH?

Here is my space RTS I released http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=193532&b=48
Now looking to make a new online, sandbox/dynamic RPG with AGK.

Um, what is HnH?
http://rpgwoforums.net/index.php?topic=4343.0
its a pretty fun permadeath sandbox game...has some neat features, is really addictive, but lacks weapon variety. I figured thats where you got the house ideas from that you used in V3.

also I sort of blame you for the failure of V3. after you posted about it, Mickey got hooked on HnH and wanted to try a mix of that for V3 and it didn't work :P

I think I said this back when you originally came up with the idea, but your space game reminds me of O.R.B..  only real differences I've noticed are ship types, backstory, and O.R.B. lets you move ships in all 3 dimensions.

this game is fun, until you're sitting around with your cruiser and last fighter after your miner gets blown up...then its pretty much a wait til you get destroyed type thing...which doesn't really seem possible since cruiser has so much hp.  my opinions on the game so far:

dislikes:
-hard to figure out what you need to do when you start
-really hard to tell what type of asteroid/comet is what
-too many messages about comet/asteroids being spotted
-too much hp for cruiser
-not enough hp for fighters
-not enough cargo space on miners
-biggest targets on radar(planets?) are useless

likes:
-nice easy to use interface
-you get attacked for no reason almost as soon as you start ;D
-graphics are nice(especially for your work :P)

things I'd like to see added:
-more ship types(bombers destroyers)
-better radar(some type of coding for asteroids/comets)
-a walkthrough type premission to get used to things with no hostiles
-game menu(save/load/restart)
-planet raiding(with bigger attack ships) for quick supplies
why does Fox keep cancelling good shows?
