MSINET.OCX error? =[[
« on: May 03, 2011, 04:46:26 pm »
I downloaded and ran the setup for the client. Everything goes fine I'm assuming. And then I try to run the autoupdater.exe  thing. And I get this message: "Component MSINET.OCX" or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: A file is missing or invalid"

And I'm running windows 7. Most of my stuff I install in (x86)

I've tried using command prompt as administrator and running regsvr32 msinet.ocx, but it says it's not recognized, as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file.

I'm moving from indiana to florida in 3 weeks and my best friend is staying here, so he said I should get this game so we could play together. So if someone could bear with me and walk me through the whole process step-by-step I'd realllly appreciate it.

I have an old setup program that will auto register it
http://www.rpgwo.net/shadow/downloads/RpgwoMainInstall.exe
Run that then run the new updater that you had downloaded.

RPG World has not been totally installed because of the following reason:

COMCTL32.OCX this file contains invalid data. (error 21FC)

You will have to run this utility agian to completely install RPG World online.

And said it after the first time and after the second time I ran it.

Did you move the OCX file into the client folder? That might help to.

So I'm very unhappy with the fact that no one is really trying to help...

I've done a crap load of research and downloading and reinstalling of stuff.

And I've gotten to the point where most of my files are correct, I even copied a working version from a friend. and when I run the client, it says I need to select a server then gives me a blank character sheet.

When I try running the autoupdater, it gives me the same .OCX error.

I wanna know what the heck is going on, and why I'm the only person who seems to have this problem, even though everyone and they're mother is running windows 7 and rpgworld just fine.

Help is appreciated, snide comments and @55holes who don't want to share the fun know where to stick it.

blank character sheet = logged into server and way past auto updater, from there you create a character and enter...unless you've completely lost me ???

any chance of you showing a screenshot of what you're calling blank character sheet?
why does Fox keep cancelling good shows?
