Well, how about you take the Dungeon Keeper and DK2 aspect of possessing one of your creatures/units/what-ever and that unit is under your complete control (like an first person shooter) and gains like a 10% bonus to all stats while being possessed?

I want to use some kind of Direct X library to get some performance and possibly full screen. I am currently looking at GDK.Net from www.thegamecreators.com. I have been using their GDK for C++ for about half a year off and on, working on an online 3D space sim. GDK.Net has some issues so I am still messing with it to see if it can do what I need.

Also, it would be 2D like classic RTS games with maybe some 3D effects. I would do 3D but I doubt I would find a 3D artist or trust myself to make decent models.

I'm sure if you create a good plan, good website and prove that you have the determination to create the game and follow the plan exactly and possibly add other great ideas then people would donate a few $$$ to you and you would be able to pay for 3D models.

I know some one who could create 3D models for you and possibly some one who would donate a lot if you gave them a reason to. and dont forget that DarkMatter stuff you bought, take things from there? Edit them?

If you no longer have them my External Hard Drive still has them I do believe. along with the Tree's and plants.

Your best bet would be to use the microsoft XNA framework. I actually like to use it myself since its pretty simple to use, yet powerful

I'll take a look at XNA. I heard of it but always thought it was for Xbox or you had to pay a lot for it if you sold something *shrugs*

It can be used for both the Xbox and PC with little code change, which is one reason its useful to know. And to be able to develop, test and code games on the actual 360 itself, it would only cost $100 a year.

BAH! I read them but only about half I understood, heh. I am more interested in free-form movement in space. The idea of sending a fleet someplace and someone sees it coming sounds more like a turn based, web game. I played Dark Galaxy years ago and it was like that. The game could have some kinda early warning scanners or something but a planet to owned by one company is not likely but I guess possible. Or maybe I am getting it all mixed up since I read it a few days ago.

I want to post some scenarios that I have in my head and maybe some mockup screens but have been busy with library and C# research.

Jeeze Mickey. Just hire all these kids on this forum that say C# is so easy to write your code for you. Clearly it's a trivial language as half of the board seems to be an expert with it.

WTB examples of you guys doing stuff in it. ANYTHING.

If anyone can write a basic pre alpha tech test in c# of anything game related or not then I might say anyone knows what their talking about.
