Should depend on the weather i think, cus its metal, if its cold, you should freeze... metal + cold = even colder

if its hot shud get even hotter ....

That would be cool Male.

Magma should be permanently warm. Say +10 or 15 warmth per magma weapon/armor.

Well maybe add more things to cool you down, other than just fruit, maybe standing in water for a few seconds, make that cool u down, or make temperature altitude effective as well. so if u climb u get cooler as well...

Its a bad idea to begin with, Only leather armor should be given heat, if even that.

Its unneeded and will become annoying.

or just make it so its relative - so that when its "Very cold" getting in a sword fight increases your warmth 200% and every V30mins you start to cool down?

That whole swordfight thing ruins life. WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU USE AXES, THEN IT DONT WORK. /fail

Anyways.

Altitude would be better. And make the game harder with temperatures. Say being in water cooled you off by  X amount per Y value of time. Temperature decreases with higher altitude saying a couple points every so many higher up elevations.

Make more things to cool/warm you as said. Underground having a lower temperature then whatever the current above ground temp is.

Could be something cool to work with abit.

best way to do it wud prlly be like a group of altitudes... 100 or below = 10-15 cool
101-102  = 5-10 cool
103 - 105 = 0-10 warmth
106-109 = 5 cool - 5 warmth
110 + = 10-15 cool

something like that maybe?

so what your all saying is you want the game unplayeable in the winter time? or most the time at high elevations? there is realisim and than there is usefullness and looking past features to make game play reasonable, thats like going its realistic to need to take weeks to make armor... lets make it take weeks to make armor woooooo. in the winter its already to cold as it is let alone iron armor making you cold, and elevation making you further cold.

nah its just that in winter a wool coat makes u very hot... so why not make it so ur armor effects your warmth levels as well...

Not a good idea. I think its a bad idea because the warmth system is good already plus you would be very hot all the time espicially if you were wearing magma armor.
