The grid lines would seriously piss me the hell off. In otherwords, I'm gonna say. No isometric.

Not really.. it looks like he is trying to turn RPGWO into a strategy game.

Do do iso, it will ruin the fell for the game imo. when i 1st played rpgwo i loved the movent the sounds, everything, V2 should stay to the same that everyone loves and knows how to play. iso would be annoying with the Grid lines and the movement etc

I think that was the purpose.

If you are gonna make it iso at least make it look good and not a pile of pixelized wolf mixed together with grid lines. The current images aren't even isometric, you're just throwing them on their so you don't have to do as much, which I'm not complaining about but uh... no. If it's isometric, at least use graphics that FIT that, like tibia/etc.

Wow. Now its going to be a new Tibia. Just stick with the current RPGWO. It hasn't failed you yet.

The grid lines would be a toggle to turn on and off.

The movement controls would be no different than now.

The current perspective is a mix-match of top down and straight on and 45 degree, heh. It always drove me nuts but was easy to work with.
Elevation was always hard to see. Iso would fix that. I would also have varying slopes and the climb skill would make more sense with steep slopes
plus not to mention cliffs.

I looked at Tibia and their perspective is annoying with the slant. I never liked that much.
You may have conquered my worlds, but I destroyed them!

Graphics in a game are NOTHING. It's just a bonus imo. Content, fun and playerbase are the most important aspects in a MMORPG to me.

Sorry to break it to you mickey, but the whole idea behind isometric is the SLANT... because that's what isometric IS. You can't just slap 10 year old 2d graphics made by amateurs on a slanted world, it looks tigered up. Unless you mean Tibias SPECIFIC graphics, whatever. I just meant in that fashion, that's what isometric is supposed to be.

As for elevation.. maybe there should be some sort of switch you could toggle that shows the elevation of the tiles on the screen? Maybe some sort of translucent grid pattern or something, that way it doesn't annoy the crap out of you. OR maybe your mouse changes when you put it over a square and the cursor changes and adds numbers of said elevation. No clue if that's possible, but it's an interesting concept.
