Mick has it so 2.1 is only seen on Chaos. What if, after you select a server, a pop up comes up with an option for Classic RPGWO or New RPGWO (1.15 vs 2.1). That way you could use the new client on all of the servers, not just chaos.

Being able to change between them would be ok, even though I personally don't play, though just by looking at the new interface its a bit crunched up, needs some re-arranging.. Don't know how possible it would be, instead of having the map right there in the top right, push M to open a nother window with the map so you can move it all around your screen or close it when you dont need it.. Might clear up some space..

I'm sure that Mick is working on the new interface.. he's just moved things around.. the map size is 19x19 now. Soon he'll figure out an appealing way to get it all together.

Although the option to "un-pin" the map and things like that and have them around or gone would be nice.

i dont think you would be able to switch between the 2 becuase all the new stuff he will be adding will eventually have to have some server coding too so the version would have to matchup with the server version.

Well I know he wants to keep them separate for now.. because people might prefer the Classic version more. If he gets to a point where server coding and the client coding need to combine.. all servers should be moved forward to the 2.1.

mick told me that aslong as there were admins willing to run 1.15 Servers, he would keep them up, so i guess maybe there will be a 50/50 split of servers
1st Steeltide - lvl 29 Xbower  No Damon
2nd Steeltide - lvl 55 Mage 1 Damon
Nulona  -  lvl 66 Mage   5 Damons
Nulona  - lvl 40 Bow    5 Damons
Xerxes  - lvl 73 Bow   8 Damons
Xerxes  - lvl 1000 @@Admin
Asylum - lvl 24 Mace      0 Damons!! :O

Well I'd hope that 2.1 will bring along improvements to the game from 1.15.. meaning that everyone will want to upgrade to 2.1.

Yeah, but there are people who always like to stay with the original.

You can't hide in the past forever. That's why on the forums when I used to do skin changes.. I'd force the change onto you guys. They got used to it eventually.

True... but there are stubborn people.  They'll try every last option of not going into 2.1 if they don't want to before doing so.

Although it's a bit messed up right now I think it's easier to use cause most things you need to tab over for are already there. It would be interesting to see how it goes.

Well i think if he gets a map detachable and some other things you can toggle more it might look cleaner, but i do enjoy the bigger 19x19 view area

Right now 1.15 and 2.x are data compatible but not packet compatible which means you can plug in the client2/server2.exe and run fine.
But that isn't gonna last. Data formats will change eventually and they will diverge. Not to mention graphics and .ini fiel changes, etc.

And it is all a change and refine process that I want players to be a part of.
Thanks so far! Working out pretty well.
