Any1 need help to make an Updater?

As the topic sez, i can point the autoupdater to your server's ip as well as help u with the creation of the master1 and master2 filez. You can then host these files on a file server which the autoupdater can pick up.

Basically you will have a working updater very much like Kirin's.

No Noob questions like requests for working inis etc please. You have been warned.

My service is free to help u with ur rpgwo server making experience. hope u guys r having as much fun as i am.. (i'm still playing a legal server )

PM me and don't flame my thread plz, It's a genuine offer to help with no strings attached.

Only send me 2 things -

1. The IP address to point the autoupdater to.
2. The files that you wish for the client side to download (for master1, it's the client itself and for master2, the client side files that should include all the bmps + wavs + standard dat files such as itemuse, itemdef, item and animation. (see Kirin's updater for more idea of what you should include and what you should not include)

I think some peeps rn't very helpful when u ask, that's alright, bcos' vb6 isn't rocket science. heh.

Anywaz, for the benefit of all (unless my post is deleted) -

Some kind soul has already provided the pmmastermake.exe on this forums.

You need that file + zlib.dll.

To make Master1.dat (which consists of the main client side files)

1. Place the above 2 files in your Client folder
2. Run pmmastermaker.exe
3. Click on Auto, it will auto select the files from ur client folder and make zlib files (basically zipping up the files into smaller sizes)
4. Click on Make Files
5. You will see all the files ending with .zlib + MASTER2.dat
6. Rename MASTER2.dat to MASTER1.dat

To make Master2.dat (which consists of the e.g. "Xerxes.files" folder files)

1. Place the above 2 files in the folder e.g. Xerxes.files
2. Do the same as above
3. Now you have MASTER2.dat.

NOW,

You MOVE all .zlib extension files + Master1 and Master2 to your own file server (or a hosted one).

Point the autoupdater and connect.ini to your file server and THERE! You have a working Updater!!
