Sounds pretty good I guess. Just a suggestion though, you should test/check things after doing an update because I noticed on Wilbur you never seem to check anything you change.

Factions will probably last a month then players will get bored, I am guessing.
So, what to make afterwards?

One new idea I just thought of is an underworld. Maybe someone tried it, don't know but on V2 is easier since we have multi-levels.

Basically, no surface, about 1000x1000 size, with like 10 levels. Mining factor is currently 25 so I would change it to 10-15 extra skill per level.
With most plants gone, would need oil/tar wells for lighting, probably some kinda glowing plant (other than mana/flax plant) to provide light for alchemy plants to grow. Mushroom and other edible fungus. Edible underground monsters. Would sort through and weed out flying ones and others that didn't fit plus add new ones?

Would add natural caverns all over with plants in them, maybe lakes, lava, etc, too.

Probably need to make mining based off all stats and auto-trained otherwise magic users will bitch they can't mine worth a crap *shrugs* or leave it as is.

The world would actually favor magic users (or anything who goes white magic early on). Might want to think about that too

What host is that?

Its only a VPS. I got it with http://automatedvps.com/ last year.

There has only been one incident of downtime, and that was only for a short time while they did some networking changes.

Its not bad for hosting small things like rpgwo

You could always host it on the machine Gary has for rebirth

The machine that hosts rebirth is interesting. It is only $14 a month for 3.2ghz xeon, 100 gb HD, and 1gb ram. It has really been a solid machine.

Could of had double that for $8 more.

not double posting. but maybe factions could have designated people who do set jobs... as alot of player like pk'ing but not doing skills they can be the warriors/defendors of the faction. while others who chose a traders life and despise all things pk/pvm. are the builders ect..making it so all members need each other to survive and thrive.

That should be up to the faction members and the player. There is no reason to force someone to do jobs that they do not want to. At that point it becomes a chore instead of a game.

Theres absolutely no need for 10 factions, stick with 4 at the most. There just won't be enough people playing for 10 factions. At that point it might as well just be small tribes of people instead of a collective group.

The tribunal system is too bugged to be used Mickey. People tend to think only for themselves. At one point during your chaos world, the current tribunal group abused their abilities just to declaim peoples land and take their items (ie. my damon).

I do like faction worlds myself. I would love to see a world made around factions again, but there are also issues related to that.

Trust me, doing 4 weapons per ore is a bit too much. Its alot of work making and balancing that many weapons
