people like 2d games and are willing to play, looks at these games like terarria, minecraft, haven hearth. all of these games have elements that rpgwo use. none of them quite do it the same way rpgwo does it though. haven hearth is good but it feels slow. minecraft are based on servers created by players with no dedicated servers.

if you just polish this game up, add a slogan like "the players shape the world" then you will get players.

if there was a server of the current state of rpgwo (10 players) and a server of maybe 50+ id pay 10 dollars to play on that server instead

make a way so that mistake isnt made, maybe on the usage (requires specialization). and on the character creation screen. whos stupid enough to level something without checking the requirements of what they want to make or use

Instead of making the game on facebook, maybe you could put it on steam for 10 dollars. Indie games always get advertisements if the game is half way decent. Ofcourse you would have to polish it up a bit and add more content. You could easily get 50-100 players

specialization is necessary in this type of game or skill sets become useless like cooking... there should be an immediate benefit for specializing. this would in effect create more player interaction. cooks would be able to make foods with special effects and perform tasks a non specialized person wouldnt be able to do. The benefits should make specializing attractive depending on the style you want to play the game.

Specializing should be a little more creative than just leveling speed

If two people create the same character with the same attributes, but one person specializes bow, they will be the exactly the same until maybe 10-15 levels later a noticable difference in their bow level.

thats boring.

add more variety like access to different weapons, abilities or spells. then there would maybe be reason to specialize in skills like swim, trap, and cooking etc.

RPGWO 3 - Facebook / Cities!
« on: May 19, 2011, 02:37:41 pm »
I know there have been city condos before but maybe there should be more benefits of being in a community like that. think of 3,3 in steeltide

player owned condos are usually small and require a special key to get into. I believe a city made of these will increase the mmo aspect of the game. The condos should provide shelter, storage, and a place to use crafting skills, all right in the city.

Some ideas for benefits:

-if there are warpstone hubs, the condos will be close to them
-more player interaction and trading
-lifestone nearby if you dont have the skill to make one yourself
-make that city the starting point giving newbies a better feeling of an active world
-have some basic training grounds maybe underground. (no crystal drakes obviously)
-again close to siege warp stone so you can get a weapon if you forgot to bring it
-will add some pvp aspect, (make it pvp intensive or a safe ground, your choice.)
-possibly add a small bonus to skill level, mana life stam regeneration, or exp gain
-readding churches? I know its an old system but youll be close to the church if placed in the city
-close to pk and ctf arena

city farming idea:

have an area in the city where you can rent an enclosed area to make your own crops.

those are just ideas from the top of my head I dont know how hard they would be to implement.

its basically some encouragement for player interaction. When implementing this I also believe mules should be limited on what type of item they carry, the amount, or the number of different items.

RPGWO 3 - Facebook / Someone do a Full review of the game
« on: May 18, 2011, 07:46:30 am »
Someone should do a review of the game on why its great and post It on MMORPG.com or something, atleast in the general section of the forum. Facebook has brought back hope sort of that mickey is actually doing SOMETHING with the game. Not as fast as id want but something.

There is a want for good 2d games out there because it has more potential of rpg elements than more "theme park" type games like WoW.

I might make a review but Im not great of a writer and the current player base is kinda off putting. (i dont want to write a great review and some guys come and see 3 players on)

RPGWO 3 - Facebook / I dont like the new houses
« on: May 13, 2011, 03:00:31 am »
Player made house is a HUGE part of why rpgwo is good. So is the line of site/darkness aspect. The new housing system is cold, unoriginal, uncustomizable, and the worst part, instanced.

what else are windows for?

Suggestions / RPGWO ideas (open)
« on: March 28, 2011, 12:44:10 pm »
If we dont get a lot of people, maybe you can make the map sizes smaller, maybe 3x3 but have lots of quests. There would be more player interaction opposed to 10x10, you never find anybody like. More admins, events, automated events bla bla bla. Ofcourse gear the game around pvp and less around pve. I think what most people like about this game is fighting other people and only use pve as a means to get better at pvp. Maybe make a system that allows more pvp played without falling behind. More exp gain in pvp?

people liked mission servers because there was alot more inteaction because you knew other players might be unlike "real" servers where its impossible to find someone in the wild.

Ive played this game since i was 12 and I want to play this game again but there needs to be huge changes. I know a lot of people feel the same way but dont care and are letting the game die. I hope v3 is awesome and the rpgwo community bands together. In terms of being underground, we are as far from mainstream as you can get and there is no room for that "the game is dead who cares" bullwolf. What makes the game fun is the community and player interaction which my suggestions are geared around. Updates should be geared around that as well in addition to new features.

RPGWO 2 / more sound
« on: December 02, 2007, 05:38:54 pm »
make more sound when opening doors, using items, walking, walking over a bush, walking on snow or grass. it would add realism and itd be cool to hear someone walking beside your house so you can gank him.

also new ambient sounds. tired of crickets but it did sound cool when i first heard it.
