Gigas and Megas potions need to have their timer increased as well, and could you increase the size of spawns in the wild while you are at it? Thanks, we appreciate you!

And I miss RPGWO too!  :'(
And yes... I am even willing to redo/undo the V2 crucible/mold changes!!!

If you're serious about being willing to edit v2, how about taking out the surface kills plants coding?

And as I said before, it's great that people want to create a new world and pitch in to try to keep the game alive, but if you aren't willing to put in the staggering amount of effort and time to make something truly unique and of it's own, then don't expect the world to last more than a few weeks, all of the current content that's been used has been around for years and years, even if a few images here and there are changed the fundamentals of the server are unaltered which leaves the world you create with the same shortcomings of all those before.

Well one of the main problems is that the people who like tradeskilling run out of things to do after only a short period of time, it's been proven time and time again that within the first week or two a group of players could be on the highest + jewelry, have access to the highest level of potion and be on the highest level of red magic spells, leaving no work to be done after that time, and since it's so easily reached in such a short time, potions especially with the help of multi-use, it makes a long term tradesman's ability to be useful very limited.

Not to mention the overall lack of usefulness of most of the tradeskills that we currently have, cooking is a completely pointless skill after about 100 cooking as that's all it requires to make any sort of decent food.

When I initially planned on making a server I had planned on cross overs between certain skills, such as you'd need parts from animals to use in alchemy recipes rather than just grinding a seed into a potion you'd need to mix different ingredients.

Other changes could be made that white magic spells like renew and such would either take alot more to learn/cast while food could give renewals or food could give higher renews making food a constant want/need.

I don't know. I just feel I need to re-learn the V2 system soon.

That is a very good idea, there is so much potential that could be unlocked with v2, I have a whole slew of ideas that I'd like to pitch to you for updates to the games hard coding if you'd be willing to follow through with changes, if you found them appealing of course.

Once a server goes online I'll lock this topic. It's funny that greatest didnt come to pitch his vote after his complaining i offered no solution. Kids these days.

He was probably too busy telling Mickey he should add straw bedrolls to v6 that give you +10 to run or something useless.

I wasn't trying to discourage your efforts btw, I was just trying to add in that if someone was going to work on a new server that they should put the extra work in to make it their own rather than a re-hash.

Leveling has always been just as easy and just as hard on every world.

Actually, prior to those worlds the top experience you could gain was half of what you could get a hit at the best, on Hex you could get 32000 exp a hit which happens to be the max amount of skill exp you can gain in one hit, anything more gives you 0 to your skill exp though spendable does go passed 32000. With level requirements throughout all servers being the same meant you would level much faster.

This is not the only problem true enough, a lack of Admin interaction with players  (Events, new content ect.) Is another reason for player loss over the course of the first few months.

Sorry to all those proud of their super high levels in the recent servers but the servers as of hex forward have been more or less "easy mode" Gaining 5k+ exp at level 25-30 onward when back in the day 5k exp would be around the best exp you got anywhere from lvl 50-70. Now everyone may think that "Oh yay I am not stuck in the low level stages forever" But then you end up burning yourself out because you've leveled so high so fast and get bored quicker. Opening another server with ini's that haven't been drastically redone would just result in more of the same that we've been having where 1-2 people will just play because they have nothing better to do and hit silly levels while the rest of the world has quit around them. So please if you're going to open a new world make it a unique one.

Name=Hexed
Description=RPGWO v2 PK/NON-PK Server.
IP=162.213.223.162
Port=4502
UpdateURL=http://162.213.223.162/Hexed.files/
;;;Version2

For all of those few people who play, go into your connect.ini located in your RPGWO Folder, open up your connect.ini delete all that nonsense in there and paste the info above, then save the file, go back to it, right click > properties and check the "Read Only" box, then try to get on rpgwo like normal, there will be a brief error click yes and then it'll let you on.

That's a valid point, there should probably be a standard newb friend world out to greet the new players, however it'd be important for it to have an active admin, who's not corrupt or temperamental, something that would be incredibly hard to find with the current population we have, Mickey couldn't really do it since he's busy with v5.

I disagree, as much as I like Mickey considering taking an interest in v1/v2, for as however brief as it may be, there is already a working server up, and with the current rpgwo population being as small as it is, opening another server would just make each server look less populated than they already do, and would probably cause any new players to rapidly lose interest in the game thinking it's dead.

Okay let me rephrase this, I am looking for people who have reached high level and acknowledged by others as being skilled at the game, an example would be, Jaster and his axer Zal's Macer, T D's Mage and Draviens staffer from ST2.

I am looking for a list of veteran players that have been known throughout the years of rpgwo, and the weapons that they were known for using on their "best" characters.

RPGWO V4 / V5 / Re: Updated V5 : Basic Map Usage and such
« on: August 31, 2013, 04:30:23 pm »
I completely agree with Kaios on this point, Macroing is not hard to discover, if you find someone doing an odd behavior, like repeating last use over and over and moving left or right or doing anything to disrupt the inactivity boot, just ask a simple question or say hello to see if the player is actually there. This is a large issue with v1/v2, what's the point of making an item or usage take a certain amount of skill if you just have someone sit there throw up a macro and have it do the training for him while he's asleep or out doing something else...

Stopped playing Hex because the player base died, was a great server and i'd consider playing again if the player base returned.

You need to start playing now, everyone doesn't play because it looks dead, which is why it stays dead, it's not even really that "Dead" at the moment there are 7 people online.

I never planned on making my server Stealing, I am probably going with the normal, non pk, higher level sector's pk with pk alter optional. I was thinking about using gold as decorations on weapons and armor, though the other ores will be used as normal, iron steel and copper are just too limiting, Polearm was actually a skill on nexus I believe, and even so spear and staff are too similar to polearm to really have that as a skill by itself without removing one or both of the others, I'm already putting a lot of work into alchemy, and if you would like multiple plants for a potion I will need a lot more plant images, if you're good at making images, make some samples and I'll take a look at them.

I didn't really mean other types of food, I meant what can we add to food to make it more useful than just as food? And it will be the basic medieval style server.

Well, I'm back after a much needed break, I have decided to go back to work on my server, which is still pretty early in development. So currently, I am open to all idea's you have or would like to see in a server, so post away, I'm currently looking for a way to make cooking more useful, any thoughts on that subject would be much appreciated.

Also, why is no one playing Hex? Sure it's been up for a while, but it's still a great server, go back and play it guys.
