RPGWO 2 / Gallows Admin corruption (quitting)

I had fun being the first to reach 30 as a fighter, but Im going to quit while im top because the admin Tommy plays favorites because i was leveling faster than his new friends. If you want to play on an unfair server where you the admin gives handouts to certain players be my guest, but its not for me :). heres some audio I found on youtube. Its kinda sad to listen to because Jaster was apart of what made Tommy shut down the server in the first place but now he seems as he just wants to be liked

RPGWO V6 / V7 / Abilities and magic

I think abilities and magic should be the next focus. I was always intrigued by games with lots of spells so you can explore different possible gameplay styles. I think RPGWO should try and emulate Achaea for instance the MUD. I think blue magic has huge potential.

I think the 5x5 world layout with quests in many of the sectors was a success. The format used in a lot of the quests where there were spawns of 15 mobs in a large instanced sector is easy to replicate to make more quests and provides a good training place for players.

The new exp system seems to be based on level only. This means you could train in the golem quest all the way  from level 50 to level 700 attack and melee defense. This is kind of simple. The exp is also slower compared to other worlds with a level 55 monster giving about 1-2k exp per hit.

I liked the pk exp bonus which gave players 20 percent more combat experience. Im not sure if it only effects attack only or defense as well. It would have been nice to see it give a blanket bonus since many things can be considered useful for pks. I also wish the pk altar was accessible to everyone, not a quest. It should be in a safe place in town like in a church setting. This would let traders become pk for the exp and create the environment of a fully pk world in an optional pk/non pk world.

Macroing blacksmithing with the crucible system is still easy giving you lots of exp for almost no work.

Another game that is not as good as rpgwo but is going to steam. In my opinion rpgwo is better than both terraria and this game. Somehow bring back all the files of steeltide and put it on steam for free and you have an instant hit then you can possibly charge for perks or move to maybe 5 dollars for the game once its popular. We dont need a new client for rpgwo, the quests and the players are what make the game good, add in some better pvp options (like joining a pvp faction with bonuses like on ultima online) and its a perfect game. I know I've put a lot of hope into this game over the years but how hard is it to get the game on steam?

The old system was good, where you could only see 3 tiles at night if you dont have a lamp, are you going to use it on this version. I think more things could be associated with night/darkness like monster spawns or items with properties or something. Just dont make all items light up the whole map like el tiki torches and flood the cities with torches because it ruins the atmosphere of the medieval times.

I think the world size should be very small for the test server, around 4x4. I think the world size should'nt be too large for a small playerbase.

Instead of mules preserving food forever, maybe you can add a chilling system where everything in a certain range of some ice object is preserved. Itd be useful to have an ice room to preserve food.

I always loved the idea of gravyn clones. It reminded me of zombie attacks. I think random spawning monsters like ghosts or something inside your house would be fun or random zombie attacks. Not much explanation but I think itd be fun. Maybe you can have certain days of the week have zombie attacks that destroy things. You would have to put up special barriers to keep them away and rebuild.

So Ive been on a diablo kick after playing beta and think it would be awesome to use some of those great abilities necromancers use. It could be a whole skill group of its own. I also played beta and they had a mechanic for the witch doctor where you could throw a jar of spiders that would die upon attacking for a small percent of your weapon damage but was spammable. Its one of the most fun abilities ever. RPGWO is very diablo in a sense so I think it would be super fun to add that hack n slash gameplay and would make leveling so much more fun. Giving other weapon skills some fun abilities would be good too.

Anyone find a good way to make a non level cap rpgwo? I know its everything rpgwo is not but one reason rpgwo doesnt have many players is it doesnt have much room for new players. If you join a server a week late you are already "behind". Its pretty hard to compete with the guy who plays 24 hours a day. People who play longer "should" have more in game but there should be some skill involved. If he has trained longer, targets you and clicks a, you are dead. Two non player skill related things killing you. I understand there is some skill in leveling. How about item based?

You should add scents to the game like haven hearth where if you steal from someone elses land you leave a scent. Or if you go on someone elses land and use a door etc. You would be able to track this player anywhere in the world.

If you still have the files for old mission servers such as the vorth invasion in the desert, could you put a server back up until dune arrives? Rebirth is a long term commitment server which I dont think most people want to play while waiting

I believe that walls and possibly other trade goods should require more resources. This would give a use to all those materials that miners get and have 100-200 granite that they dont use. It would also prevent people from just making a million tiles worth of wall. People with walls should seem "rich".
