when it comes to theorycrafting starts/landrush, i'd probably just have my group use the   Take a ship wreck, heh, you land with no tools, some random items washed up on shore, arrive far off safe spot, random copper 0 to 200 option

assuming there's even a small chance of good random items, and a 50%+ chance of getting better than 100 copper from the previous entry, it seems like the potential best return. but then again, how does it handle potentially recreating/deleting characters after dropping start gear?

you can just fill with any item (item fill on empty surface), file > dump script, then open the rsf in notepad, and find+replace <any item> with <wall's item id>

I've not done a full world maze before but my thoughts would be this:

You get a warp key of some sort at the start, upon entry to maze. Like warp key L1. You have to use it on the warp stone to exit to L2. The stone gives you a L2 key instead, and you have to use the L2 key to transport to L3.

This is a nodrop on death item that allows you access to a warp room that grants access to L1 to L3 if you have a L3 key, etc from the entry portal.

You also can start with a "teleport scroll" item (or purchasable maybe ;)) that brings you back to L1 or the entry point, in case you want to exit at any time without walking back or suiciding.

No way

It's theoretically possible to gate entry into the boss room, and also spawn only one of an item. The next L3 boss item will not spawn at all (not using ITEMSPAWN) until someone makes the entry from L2 to L3 again via a legitimate key; direct entry via the warp room will not trigger the event.

And yes... I am even willing to redo/undo the V2 crucible/mold changes!!!

If you're serious about being willing to edit v2, how about taking out the surface kills plants coding?
Can you not just set GROWTHDEATHCHANCE/GROWTHGRASSKILL/SURFACEGROWTH yourself per-server?

even add a second type of anvil*...

there are about 12 different types of anvils used for different jobs, but you could have gotten away with just adding 1.  maybe anvil and double horned anvil?

An other game I'm played has small and large anvil. For RPGWO it could be something like small anvil = tools, pick heads, etc and large anvil = weapons, armour. It'd be fairly simple I assume to split in two, and based on weight I'd like to always carry an anvil on me for the small things like making another tools..

Got a town setup. How to load town into server?

Dump script, put filename.rsf in client folder (same folder as client2.exe), /open filename as admin. Offset is diagonal bottom right to your character start.

if we're going for realistic biome feel, do waterways work? i'd love to be able to live downstream, pour tons of dirt, coal, and garbage into a stream and make plants die further downstream

1366x768 is the standard "craptop" resolution
there's a few vertical pixels used up for the startbar, these ss are 1:1 if you want to crop in paint
