https://transfer.sh/2VOlU/RPGWO.zip does this work?

all the files seem modified 2011 or so so the old ones are same?

You're missing a waterside/underside ini at world generation time I think, or a broken one. Or images have moved, who knows.

I usually see that kind of thing (and black borders at edges of water, or no water) with the empty waterside or nonexistent file - unsure if this is the case

Do you plan on maintaining/running events (optional)/updates or just putting it up and leaving it up?

Would appreciate a fresh server, not previously restored characters if that's a thing. Cannot connection.

Some skill names seem to be required like Melee Defense etc (hardcoded?), or check item ini for skills that no longer exist

is this thread becoming solicited fan art? :^)

I'm curious, what is a wand ore / would a diamond orb or diamond wand exist?

Is there an easier way to read chat or open chat, like hitting the enter key and keep it always on? Or any way to copy/paste into chat?

Chat is/was an important part of the rpgwo experience while waiting for stuff in guard or something.

Also, it being aligned to the middle makes it difficult to read as it's left to right and not really a status message. I can see status messages being fine in the middle but a full LTR read (x globals: y) is a bit annoying, especialy when it line breaks.

I am excited to have a non-PVP house decorated in 30 differently coloured walls with dozens of statues in varying ores.

The game seems a lot more difficult to work with in terms of crafting, attacking, etc. I'm used to having a bunch of hotkeys available, things like that, and it feels like I have to repeatedly move my mouse between the left half and the top right corner of the screen all the time. Which is easy if you're on touch, but obnoxious to play on desktop.

I'd like the ability to swap to a more readable font too (ideally not as pixely or something - check something like https://rsms.me/inter/ for a readbale font for all the stats text, chat, etc - you could put player names, signs, etc in "game-themed text" but everything else seems to be kind of a pain to read)

It is certainly significantly more responsive than the previous versions

decent server, but some huge issues I've seen so far(only played about 2 hours):

1: no natural cotton spawns.  1 of the admins gave people cotton at some point, but if you weren't on when it happened you're screwed(and tailor costs 5 points here so really screwed).

2: no natural olive tree spawns.  seems an admin gave everyone an olive seed, but again if you weren't on when it happened you're screwed...

Why wouldn't they just re-dispense them throughout the world using admin? You can have lvl 100+ tames (assuming blue magic) so training rooms are on the board. "Balanced economy" "Two characters per account". The worst part was no admin was promised but admin was online. This guy has some nerve. Do not recommend.

There are a lot more problems with this world than just that.

I have started late, and was told by others that gold ore gave 400% more in the start of the server before they reduced it, along with other favouritism-related things. Additionally, apparently there was some exploiting/abuse and people have high level wands at level 1..

The general industry standard is to always keep your domains at a dedicated domain place (like Gandi or dynadot) and host elsewhere, bad idea to keep all your eggs in one basket.

I like Dynadot for domains. Cheap too.

The top 10 lists are the problem, they are almost all the same company and listed via affiliate schemes. EIG owns most of those and pays out the most per customer acquisition on wolfty, overloaded, insecure servers. If you look at the pcmag 'best provider' list, the only one that isn't horrendous wolf is Dreamhost (they are decent, but somewhat slow speed-wise), and the rest are almost all owned by one company.

I've used Webfaction for 5+ years and would be happy to recommend them, but if $10 is more than you want to spend, take a look at BS
