Scriptkiddie Scid? That really you? Glad to hear you doing alright. You weren't a bad person by any means. You were really ok when people got to know you. I remember playing SWO with Axeman, too bad you never committed to that game it could have been good. Btw, you're arguments with Rha and Ghost were legendary. Like you were holding a sword above their heads at a time when everyone hated Rha. You did some good at least :)

Bet you still can't code your way out of a wet paper bag though

Hah, cheers ;-)

I had a dig around on here, the amount of cringe I'm finding is unreal.

I'm so glad to have buried my past self  :-/ Good riddance!!

Hope all is well otherwise.

I can't stand it either actually, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone - but it pays the bills and I can take advantage of the serious developer shortage in this area.

These days I mostly hop around agencies white labelled as one of their own.

Do you play games these days? I played WoW and CoD excessively a few years ago (I've spent over 3000 hours in CoD while logged into xfire). I've dropped PC gaming now though really - I picked up a console recently and have had some great fun on story based games - The Last of Us, The Walking Dead, etc.

As far as my karma went, I found a big slice of it while looking through my drawers recently.

I ended up going solo and doing about 400 flights, but moved to a location where clubs are too hard to get to. At some point I'd like to get my PPL.

eCommerce stuff mainly - mostly PHP/Wordpress/Magento backend. I managed to drop out of university but found my feet about 6 years ago doing it full time and have not looked back.

Nice to see you around still. What about yourself?

I decided to pop in - I still check once a year on how the game is doing overall but have not installed the client for a long time now.

It probably won't mean anything to people any more, but I wanted to say I'm really sorry for all the s**t I've caused over the years. (Genuinely)

To be quite frank, I'm not sure what was going with me while I was growing up.

When I look back, all I see is a little s**t without any real morals or decency and with some very destructive behaviour.

I was deeply unhappy for various reasons, but that's no excuse for any of it.

I've been pursuing a diagnosis for ADHD, so I'll see what happens there - it might go some way towards explaining my bizarre behaviour.

The hacking did catch up with me, I ended up being moved school and ended up in a college with adults, which did me a lot of good.

After a while I ended up growing up, at least to an extent, although fell into various trouble along the way (from being heavily in debt, to drug addiction and various other ups and downs along the way)

I finally managed to channel my energy when it came to programming, it's now a full time career which is doing me well - I also managed to write a few fairly successful game mods along the way.

How is everyone else doing?

RPGWO 2 / Fog/Rain/Snow/Sandstorm Viewable
« on: July 08, 2008, 06:47:02 pm »
I did this on Scidhuv World, as a test to see what terrain generated weather would do. Certain features would generate wind, and the ground depending on the surface would have a temperature value, when the wind blew hot air over water, I had it create clouds. These clouds would grow, until they blocked the effect of the sun. In rare occasions, they would be strong enough to create rain or even a full on storm. Once they started to rain they would reduce in energy very fast.

Using rain to affect plant growth directly, it meant you would be best off planting crops a certain distance away from rivers, in the 'fertile' part of the land.

It also meant certain things would be better to do at night, when the ground was less hot

It was fun

tbh I dont mind someone asking how to run the server with no prior knowledge

however

I do mind it when someone decides to put viruses on the forums, and tries to get people to run it. Surely thats a bannable offense?

Stick with what that Damen gave you, whatever crap the muffin man gave you, delete it, its all designed to tiger up your computer

I forget the passwords, try client.dat as a pass, and also 1234567890, i really cant remember though

Legally not much to worry about running the server, mickey didnt put any copyright info etc etc on it, and theres nothing to say you cant run it or have to buy it etc etc

Javas dire, what decent apps were made in java which didnt lag

2 languages. Theres still some difference between the two, and you generally have a different approach in using them.
