is it down? I was on there earlier and now can't connect.
@Drew copy and paste that bit about connection in your connect.ini file and make it read only that way you'll update properly and can connect when its back up.

yup its been down for a while i think. well it was like this 5h ago when i got kicked offline anyway hehe :D shame because its not a bad server so far.

Can't log in, I did all that crap, refuses to open past a blank screen when entering world.

is this server hosted on your computer? Why isn't it in the list?

Its not hosted on my computer I bought a VPS. It will be put on the list when mickey checks the RPGWO forums I would assume.

(this is an issue with my laptop, my desktop does it all fine and I'm level 8 now)
I'm on windows 8. whenever I try to edit connect.ini I am greeted with the error message "Access is denied." I'm the only administrative user, so that can't be the issues. I'm doing everything that worked on my desktop computer (windows 7)

3 people I've talked to can't get on.
Don't know why or what the problem is here but I'm Windows 8 as well.

open notepad "Run As Administrator" then open connect.ini
windows just gets stupider and stupider(and yes I know proper grammar should be more stupid)
@Drew, what exactly are you doing? if you're getting a blank screen at entering the world my guess is you didn't get updated(ie: you used the specify ip option instead of modding your connect file) so until you get updated you won't get into the world...

No, I'm not silly.. It's in the ini. This happens to laptops with windows 8. Happens to zaln too

I managed to create a character today ;)
But it seems to spike lag a lot.
And I think there's afk trainers

No real problems with lag so far but if it becomes an issue ill upgrade the hosting or switch providers. I was busy yesterday, but I was just online for about 2 hours to fix the bugs and no one was afk training.

I asked people online and one person said they lagged some, not sure if that was you. I've only had problems one time when I was on with lag and it went away in a few minutes. I sent in an email to burst about it (just to be sure) and im awaiting a reply.

Me and Lord Morrogoth cant connect. were getting the attempt to override the updater thing then fail to connect when trying to connect to hex. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still no connection, please help.

you sure? the updater freezes on updating cricket.wav every time I've tried it today.

You have to wait a while for cricket.wav to update I replaced it with a sound track so some music plays at night instead of those annoying crickets. The file is bigger, but maybe I will just put the old one back in if people are having trouble. Anyway just trying downloading the file here and placing it in your hex folder and see if that works.

no, roarion I dont. It gets past the primary file download then when it hits the secondary files it prompts me that it failed to connect to the update server. override updater and run from client. then bam failed to connect.

Are you manually setting your connect.ini or letting the auto-updater do it?
Make sure you have these settings....

i let the auto updater do it, and its now freezing on criket.wav even after I d/led the file you posted.

okay so i finally got it to let me in, but its not letting me create a character. there is no foul language in the name or anything.
