Nerfing swords a little?

I think swords should make made slightly weaker in terms of minimium-maximium damage, compared to weapons such as axes, flails, maces, etc.

It would make up for swords ability to do damage to any kind of monster regardless of their physical resistance.

Not sure cause the thing about swords it sucks is they didn't have like a bonus like mace with stamina damage, spear range, axe can break sheields,

Breaking shields isn't that awesome, to begin with one doesn't break shields automatically.

Depends of axe used and the shield defending.

Most mobs don't have shields.

And any case, physical resistance to certain kinds of damage is like a shield that cannot be broken.

Someone with sword will always be hitting the max possible to a monster that is not strong to all kinds of physical damage.

Someone with axe does low damage to anything that is not weak to cut.

Breaking peoples 40 defense shields was fun at least when I played.

Another thing is that mauls(staff weapon) should be nerfed too, a maul is basically a better 2 handed mace.

It's got the same skill requirement, same damage, speed and more weapon defense, and I think they got the same range too.

Staffs (mauls) are 2-handed though and can't hold sheilds.

Whenever I get elemental weapons in, I'll go over the damages and see. Cuz if something has high physical armor but low elemental armor, swords are just as useless. But I see your point with swords. And axes probably need something extra, like armor break or weapon break.

Yea I know, but I was comparing the Copper Maul with the Copper Great Mace.

Both are almost the same.

Both are two handed, got the same speed(1.7), both do stamina damage, both require 76 weapon skill to wield, both cost the same gold(376).

The only differences are that the Copper Maul has 5 weapon armor, and the Copper Great Mace 4, also Mauls are slightly heavier.

Well, there are elemental swords too, and I think Armor Break or Weapon break would bit a too much...

Probably just making them be slightly stronger(same would go for maces) would fix it.

Another thing, battle spears could have cut damage added, Spears are could use a boost as well, same for unarmed(these one could use cicuvement shields).

I could see weapon/armor breaking being a bit too much, especially when pvp is involved. Axes could be given a bonus similar to how poison works, a bleed effect that deals a small amount of periodic damage and preventing regen.

cleave penalty...lowers opponent attack speed with a successful hit(how hard would that be to code?)
